The Department of Management aims at promoting excellence in business education and research through industrial collaboration that maximizes the intellectual, social and economic potential of Management graduates. Management curriculum equips students with the methodology and analytical skills so that they can effectively gather, analyze, and interpret information for use in business decision making.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a three years degree course which aims at enhancing the skills and competencies of students as administrative professionals to meet the dynamic need of contemporary complex business world. After successful completion they will be awarded BBA degree by Dibrugarh University

 

The BBA course shall be of three calendar years. Each academic year is divided into two semesters. The first, second, third, fourth, and fifth semester will have common theory papers. The sixth semester will have a Project Study and three specialization papers in six groups. The specialization groups are as follows:
i)   Marketing Management                         ii) Human Resource Management
iii) Management of Insurance Business      iv)  Financial Management
iv) Hospital & Healthcare Management      v) Tourism & Travel Management

 

Each student is expected to undergo a Project Study and submit the report in the Sixth semester of the course.

Eligibility

A student who has passed the H.S. (10+2) in Arts, Science or Commerce from the AHSEC or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate may apply. Students appearing in the 10+2 final examination, whose results have not yet been declared may also apply.

aDMISSION PROCEDURE

Admission shall be made on the basis of the marks obtained in H. S. (10+2) Examination.

DURATION

The B.B.A. Course shall be of six semesters covering three calendar years. The schedule for the semester system is as shown below:

  • a) First, Third and Fifth semester   : July – December (including end semester examinations)
  • b) Second, Fourth and Sixth semester: January – June (including end semester examinations)

Details

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a two year (four semesters) full-time regular Programme under Dibrugarh University. This programme consists of theoretical and practical training to help graduate gain a better understanding of general business management functions taught and learned through a combination of lectures, seminars, field works and project works. This programme is of two years duration divided into four semesters.

The M.B.A. Course shall be of four semesters covering two calendar years. The schedule for the semester system is as shown below:

  • a) First and Third semester   : July – December (including end semester examinations)
  • b) Second and Fourth semester: January – June (including end semester examinations)

 

ELIGIBILITY:

Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) can apply for admission into the Programme. Those waiting for their final year results can also apply for admission into the programme.
